Exercises for Back Pain You Can Do At The Office

Summary:

Exercises for back pain can be done anywhere. Here are a few ways you can improve your back pain at the office or anywhere else.

Exercises for back pain don’t have to be done just at home. You can do them anywhere and most people will benefit from doing them often, even at the office.  For example, I can spend hours in front of the computer each day. If I don’t stand up and stretch my back, I’m hunched over on my way out the door. Instead, if I take a short five-minute break every hour or so, I can actually feel better and it gives me a chance to let my mind get a break, too.

What exercises for back pain can you do at the office? You may not want to do the Cat Exercise at work (especially if you have glass surrounding you) but here are a few others you can do.

• Bending Sitting Stretch: Sit on your chair with feet on the floor in front of you. Take your left leg and place your ankle on your right knee. Then, bend over the leg towards the floor. You won’t go too far, but you will feel the tightness in your back relieving. Change feet and do again.

• Stand and Twist: Stand up. Place your arms outstretched on a high bookcase or file cabinet, for support. Keep your feet and arms still and straight while rotating your hips as much as you can in one direction and then as much as you can in the other direction.

• Twisting Hips: Lay down on the ground and put your knees up. Keep your back flat against the floor while turning your hips and knees to the right so that they are touching the ground on the right. Do the same for the left and keep your knees together.

Exercises for back pain can be done anytime. Doing these exercises each day, every few hours even can help to strengthen your back, too. Not only can it help you to stretch, but also to improve your overall back health. Close the blinds and just relax.
