The causes of neck pain range but there are several common causes. This type of pain can be in any of the structures within the neck. The pain may be caused by the muscles there or the nerves that run throughout the area including into your spinal column. The discs between the vertebrae of your neck can be common locations for pain. In addition, many people confuse neck pain with pain that comes from the areas around the neck, such as from the jaw, the upper back and the upper arms.

As long as you are sure there is no injury to the neck or the upper vertebrae, you can do some exercises to improve the functionality of the muscles there. By strengthening those muscles, you may also see improvement with overall neck pain, upper shoulder pain and upper back pain.

The water pillow is just what it sounds like. The pillow is filled with liquid, which allows it to better adjust to your movements throughout the night.
